Amoebic infection in the intestinal tract.
Transmission
It is transmitted by contamination of food, water, or feces. In its life cycle Entamoeba goes through a stage of cyst, which is very resistant to the environment, and even to the acids of the digestive tract. Transmission through sexual contact is rare.
