Generalities:

Nocardia asteroides bacterium causes  Nocardosis. The infection affects lungs in most cases, but in immunodepressed it can spread to different systems. The big foot grows and has an exudate like prickly pear. Deform bone and limb. Common in warm climates. Facial paralysis of the seventh cranial nerve.
