Atrophic lichen sclerosus

Generalities:
Atrophic lichen sclerosus is a disease that affects the female genitalia, mainly the vulva, and sometimes spreads through the genital area to the anus. It affects at least 1 in 1,000 girls or up to 1 in 30 adults, making it a fairly widespread disorder.
Symptoms:
Symptoms can be itching, irritation, pruritus, burning in the area. As the symptoms progress, they can generate difficulty or impossibility to carry out sexual relations. If left untreated, the disorder can progress causing fissuring, stiffness, and change in anatomy.
