Generalities:
The macula is a tissue that is located in the center of the retina. Macular edema presents with inflammation and fluid accumulation, causing loss of central vision, peripheral vision can continue. It can be due to multiple pathogens that damage the eye, it is one of the main causes of diabetic retinopathy.
