Generalities:

It produces abortion because it inflames the pelvic cavity. Also known as Malta Fever; It creates problems in pregnancy. In Men, it generates other disorders. Antibiotic therapy is recommended: Dicloxacillin plus Rifampicin.

It can also present with: fever, cough, constipation, splenomegaly, hepatomegaly, among others.

Transmission:

Transmission by direct contact with animals (goat, sheep mainly, also carp cattle, pigs, dogs, cetaceans, etc.). Also by intake of raw milk, dairy or contaminated meat. Rarely from person to person.
