Generalities:

Anxiety disorder. It is a generalized term that includes various types of anxiety, which in turn can have multiple causes such as stress, post-traumatic stress, fear, depression, anxiety, substance abuse (withdrawal syndrome). Or, it may be due to physiological or genetic factors that predispose the person to suffer this emotion chronically. Anxiety can affect people of any age: from children, adolescents, adults or older adults.

Anxiety can have different nuances, be experienced as a need to escape, panic, fear, apprehension, nervousness, worry, feeling that something terrible is going to happen. It may be accompanied by phobias such as fear of leaving home (Agoraphobia), obsessive behaviors such as obsessive cleaning, or obsessive ideas such as death or accidents. Anxiety can have a theme or situation that detonates it or it can be generalized (being worried about everything and anxious all the time).

The consumption of some substances such as alcohol, caffeine, cannabis, cocaine or even excess sugars may favor the disorder. The practice of disciplines such as yoga, meditation, tai-chi, ki-gong or any sport can be of great help as they level important hormones such as serotonin and endorphins.
